RECYCLE THE CITY is a new service available to all New York City residents and businesses seeking to repurpose goods that would otherwise be discarded as trash.RECYCLE THE CITY offers residents and businesses based in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island a convenient, affordable and tax deductable way to repurpose goods through a broad network of local non-profit partners, who in turn distribute donated items to organizations and/or individuals who can put them to a better use.

RECYCLE THE CITY was formed with New York City businesses and residents in mind – to provide New Yorkers with a more sustainable, responsible, thoughtful way to clear their clutter! Whether you’re relocating your office, moving your home, seeking to de-clutter your space or simply in need of a professional organizer’s assistance, RECYCLE THE CITY, makes things simple and convenient, saving you time and aggravation. RECYCLE THE CITY manages the entire process from start to finish - packing up your space, organizing your boxes, and ensuring that anything and everything you no longer need or want is re-directed to an organization that will put your unwanted things to good use. We’ll even fill out your paperwork for your tax write-off!

RECYCLE THE CITY offers competitive pricing based on the specific needs of your job .  We provide the reliability and efficiencies of professional movers, with the additional benefits of enabling customers to re-purpose items that would otherwise be discarded as trash. Recycle the City is dedicated to identifying a core constituency of likeminded businesses and non-profits partners to further its mission.  We believe that recycling the city takes a village – and we can’t do it without you. Our vision is simple – RECYCLE THE CITY envisions a day when all reusable materials are responsibly redistributed throughout our city until they reach the end of a full and multi-purposed lifecycle. Diverting materials from our waste stream and landfills saves millions in tax dollars and fundamentally reshapes our relationship with all materials, from the mundane to the fantastic. How does RECYCLE THE CITY generate revenue?

We have been in business since September 19th, 2008, but we have been a dream in the making for decades.

Is RECYCLE THE CITY a green business?

We are certainly a company that strives to respect the earth and all its inhabitants both in our services offered and in our personal and professional practices. However, the goals of Recycle the City extend beyond green. They are social and economic as well. Viewing ourselves solely as a green aspect feels limiting; it is just one very important part of the collective work that we do.
