Communities are most healthy when they are sustainable financially, materially, and from a health and safety perspective.
Whether we realize it or not, our taxes pay to take items to landfills, much of which IS NOT TRASH, and we pay for it by the pound. Most items are reusable and recyclable, and are desperately needed by people and organizations very close to you. Our job is to help it get from you to them.
To underline that we are always paying by the pound, our prices are by the pound. It is a reminder that you are doing your part to close the loop on your purchases.
Letters:
There are many wonderful charities in NYC quite close to you who can give you tax letters. We should know, they are our main recipients! Our focus, however, is giving to those who really want your stuff. If local artists or students or just your friends can use this stuff, we think that's cool. When they purchase your items they'll send you a thank you letter on reused paper right at their time of purchase. If your items are chosen within a month, you will get a letter-either a tax letter or from a member of the community.
Drop offs:
